The IIFT 2021 paper pattern was the same as that of IIFT 2020. However, the paper was slightly more difficult than last year. The reasons can be attributed to:
Overall, the VARC section was of moderate level of difficulty. The RCs were lengthy, as compared to last year’s RCs; and thus, the section was time consuming.
The LRDI section was of difficult LOD as compared to last year. The sets of both DI and LR had students sweating. QA, as always, was a lengthy section, but slightly easier than that of last year.
Like past years, IIFT 2021 too had match the following question in both GK and VARC. These were easy; and should have been attempted.

The Quantitative Analysis section of IIFT 2021 was lengthy as always; and your performance in this section depended on how much time you decided to spend on it. If you gave yourself about 25 minutes for this section then around 10-12 questions with an 85% accuracy were possible, and if 35 minutes were spent on QA then around 15-16+ questions with a similar accuracy were possible. Ideally, 35 minutes should have been spent on this section, with 5 minutes extra either on this section or on VARC.

Good Attempt: 15-16+ questions
Cut-off: ~ 15+ marks
This section was of moderate LOD. The 35 questions included 16 questions on RCs and the remaining 19 questions were from various topics of Verbal Ability.
A good way to attempt the section would have been to attempt all the 10-12 factual questions of RCs. or leave 1 RC passage that involved lot of scrolling, and was lengthy. Around 13-14 questions in RCs should have been solved as they were easy, just like IIFT RC questions usually are. Most of these questions were factual in nature. About 4-5 questions were of inferential nature; and were easily solvable. When it comes to Verbal Ability, around 12-13 questions could have been solved easily without many challenges. However, if VARC is your strength, you could have attempted more (~30+ questions).
Ideally, 35 minutes should have been spent on this section; with 5 minutes extra either on this section or on QA.

Good Attempt: 24-26+ questions
Cut-off: ~ 30+ marks
This section in IIFT 2021 was difficult, in terms of the level of difficulty. After an easy DI last year, this year’s DI was lengthy and involved lots of calculations. The repetitive scrolling in the section also added to the frustration. Ideally, 2 sets in DI and 1 set in LR (Coin toss set) were best left alone. Overall, 10 questions in LR and 2-4 in DI were doable in a time frame of 35 minutes or less.
This means an overall attempt of about 12 - 13 questions would have been a good attempt.
