Christ BBA Exam Analysis 2017 April 30, 2017



Christ University conducted its Entrance Exam – for admission to its 3-year Degree Program in Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) on the 30th of April, 2017. There were 120 questions in the paper, which had to be answered in 120 minutes. The sections were mixed and not individually timed and the students could switch between the questions anytime. There were five areas of testing in all - Proficiency in English Language, Quantitative & Numerical Ability, and Reasoning, General Awareness and Data Analysis and Data Interpretation. The overall level of difficulty of the paper was moderate. An attempt of 90+ questions can be considered to be a good attempt.

Most of the questions had 4 options, whereas a few questions had 5 options. In all the sections, 1 mark was awarded for each correct answer while 0.25 mark was deducted for each incorrect answer. 

Proficiency in English Language

This section was dominated by Grammar and Vocabulary questions. In Vocabulary, there were questions on Word Meanings and Antonyms. The options were close and hence, they were a little confusing. In Grammar, there were questions on Fill in the Blanks (single blank). There were a total of 4 questions from the Reading Comprehension passage. The Reading Comprehension questions were fact based. The level of difficulty of the Reading Comprehension questions was easy. 3 questions were asked on Statement Assumption. The level of difficulty of the Statement Assumption questions was moderate.

Quantitative & Numerical Ability

The questions were primarily based on Algebra followed by Arithmetic. In algebra, questions were asked from sequence and series and linear equation. In Arithmetic, questions were asked form SI/CI, Percentage. There were 3-4 questions from Modern Mathematics Apart from this there were a few questions from Number System, Coordinate Geometry & Mensuration.

This section saw easy level of questions. Owing to the time constraint, a student could have attempted many questions in this section. The section was dominated by Blood relations, Clock and Calendars and Coding decoding. The overall level of difficulty was easy.

Data Interpretation and Analysis

In Data Interpretation, the questions were based on tabular and bar graph. The overall level of difficulty of questions was moderate.

General Awareness

This section was a mixed bag of easy to moderate level of questions. Most of the questions were based on static GK and almost all the questions were one liner. This saved much needed time of the students. Questions were also asked from topics like Indian History, Authors, Noble prize, Common wealth games, Bio science, Economics, Polity, Sports and Awards and Personalities. The overall difficulty level of this area was moderate.
