IIT Kharagpur also known as IIT KGP is the first institute of the IITs to be established in 1951 and recognised as the ‘Institute of National Importance’. The institute is now titled as an autonomous University. The institute is famous for its Engineering courses and is always spotted among top 5 institutes in the NIRF ranking. IIT kharagpur was awarded the status of the ‘Institute of Eminence’ by the government of India in 2019.

IIT Kharagpur Admission Procedure

IIT Kharagpur undertakes admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses through written entrance examinations. All IITs conducts admission to undergraduate programmes with a secure Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE). Candidates qualifying this examination will be eligible for a four year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree, a five year B. Arch degree, a five year dual degree (Integrated course), or a five year integrated Master of Science (M.Sc.) at IIT-KGP.

IIT Kharagpur Fee Structure

Tuition fee is waived off for SC/ST/PwD category students and for UR/EWS/OB-NCL category students with income limit less than 1 lakh rupees per annum.
