IBPS CWE RRB (Officer Scale I) - Analysis 2015: Afternoon Slot

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is conducting an online examination for the recruitment of Officer Scale-I in Regional Rural Banks (RRB), across the country for year 2015. The exam is being conducted in 2 shifts per day over 4 days, i.e. 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th September, 2015. The morning slot is being held from 9:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m. and the afternoon slot is being held from 13:30 p.m. to 15:30 p.m.

This analysis is of the first day of the examination, afternoon slot. There were 200 questions in the paper with negative marking, across all sections, of one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question. There were five sections in all - Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, English Language/Hindi Language and Computer Knowledge. Other than the fourth section, where in a candidate had to attempt either the section on English Language or the one on Hindi Language, all the other sections were available bilingually, that is, in both English and Hindi. Each question had 5 options. This year the duration of the exam was 2 hrs as compared to the 2 hrs 30 minutes duration of last year.

Most questions were from current affairs with government schemes banking related schemes full forms and few questions from geography as well.

Computer Knowledge
The main areas from which questions were asked are: Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Networking, Basic Hardware and Software.
