IBPS RRB Officer Scale I Preliminary Exam 2016 (November 6, 2016) Morning Shift

Today was the third day of IBPS RRB Officer Scale - I (Preliminary) Exam 2016. It is being conducted in four time slots from morning to evening. A total of 80 questions had to be answered in 45 minutes. It comprised only two sections i.e. Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude and both were available English as well as in Hindi. There was a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

The Reasoning section was dominated by questions based on logical reasoning. The Novel read on several week days arrangement and the Linear Seating Arrangement set were attemptable while the set based on Floor Arrangement was a bit tricky. Blood Relation and Miscellaneous questions were easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level while questions on Syllogism were easy to solve. The overall difficulty level of this section was moderate.

The Quant section saw questions from a variety of topics. Some commonly asked topics were Time and Work, Mensuration, Probability, Simple Interest & Compound Interest, Percentage, Age, Mixtures & Allegations and Profit, Loss and Discount. The sets of Data Interpretation were not very calculation intensive and thus at-least two among them should have been attempted. The overall difficulty level of this section was moderate.
