MAT
spared the aspirants from yet another round
of surprise. This time also the test comprised
of 200 questions, to be solved in 150 minutes.
There was no demarcation between topical
sections. The questions were all jumbled
up. While there was 1 mark allotted for
each correct answer, 1/4 negative mark
was specified for each wrong Ans.
GK is not included while calculating the
aggregate score. But some of the Institutes
may look at your GK score while deciding
the list of Interview Calls.
On the whole, the test was AVERAGE and
MANAGEABLE but slightly tougher than the
usual MAT Paper. As such no benchmarks
can be provided for MAT. We would like
to suggest that if you have attempted approximately
130+ questions with at least 90% accuracy,
you should be in a position to manage calls
from most of the institutes you would have
applied for.

The
MA section of MAT is usually easy and this
year too things were no different but some
questions of Mechanics were included. Major
emphasis was on the topics like Percentages,
SI/CI, Profit & Loss, Time, Speed & Distance
and Mensuration in the paper. Besides this
the other sections covered were: P&C,
Probability, Set Theory etc. |

In
the Language comprehension section there
were 15 questions on Reading Comprehension
based on 3 passages. Rest of the questions
of this section was on English usage.
