  Group Discussion
Our 10 member GD group was given 10 minutes to discuss:
  • Will market reforms enrich rich states further while poor states lag further?

The topic was relatively easy and all members of our group were able to participate. The GD was well structured. However, during the GD the panelists were not necessarily looking at the person who was speaking.

At the end of the GD, each of us was given 1 minute to speak on the topic. After which the GD summarization sheets were handed out. We were given 5 minutes to summarize the GD on the sheet.

Interview
The same 3 panelists judged the GD and conducted the interview. So creating a good impression in the GD might have worked favorably in the interview as well.

The interview covered all aspects, question ranged from academics and current awareness to very specific questions about my background.

Given my engineering background, the panel delved into very specific terms such as technology convergence. I was also asked a number of general awareness questions, such as:

  1. Who invented the CD?
  2. Name the communication technology used by the Indian army in Kargil that failed.

The panelists also asked me to identify my strengths and then grilled me on those.

Overall, the atmosphere of the interview was friendly and comfortable.
