NABARD Grade ‘A’ and Grade ‘B’ Officer Phase I (Online) Exam-2016 Analysis : (May 15, 2016 Afternoon Slot)

National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD) conducted an online examination for the recruitment of Assistant Manager (RDBS) in Grade ‘A’ and Manager (RDBS) in Grade ‘B’ across the country on May 15, 2016.

There were 200 questions, which had to be answered in 120 minutes. There were seven sections, divided into two parts.
Part I:
Reasoning, English Language, Computer Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness
Part II:
Economic & Social Issues and Agriculture & Rural Development

All the other sections, except the English Language section, were available bilingually, that is, in both English and Hindi. Each question had 5 options and was of 1 mark each. There was a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

Detailed breakdown of individual sections is as follows:

Economic and Social Issues

Most of the questions in this section were based the Government schemes, economic policies and banking. This section was of moderate difficulty level. An overall attempt of 16-18 questions can be considered a good attempt.

Agriculture and Rural Development

Most of the questions in the section were based on the Central Government policies for agriculture and rural development. A few questions were from environment and industries. An overall attempt of 15-17 questions can be considered as a good attempt.

Reasoning

This section primarily saw easy to moderate level of questions. A student should have attempted at least 30 questions. The questions were not time consuming. There were questions on Linear and Circular Arrangement, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Matrix Arrangement and Critical Reasoning.

English Language

The overall level of difficulty of this section was easy to moderate. The section comprised questions on Phrase Replacement, Error Spotting, Reading Comprehension, Para-jumble and Cloze Test. While the passage was not difficult to read, the choices were quite close and required careful examination. There were synonyms and antonyms based on RC. An overall attempt of 32-34 questions can be considered as a good attempt.

All the questions were based on basics of computer like operating system, internet, input / output devices, Microsoft Office and Excel etc. This section was of moderate difficulty level and an attempt of 14 questions can be consider as a good attempt.

Quantitative Aptitude

Overall, this section was of moderate difficulty level. This section was mostly dominated by DI questions, a few quant questions included questions based on Arithmetic (Time and Work, CI/SI, Percentage etc.), and Number Series. The DI questions were calculation intensive. A well prepared student would have attempted 22 questions in this section.

This section comprised questions of moderate difficulty level primarily based on current affairs. Candidates who have kept themselves abreast with current affairs of the past three to four months would have easily answered 15-17 questions in this section.
