Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued a notification for Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination 2015 for recruitment of Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants, Data Entry Operator and Lower Division Clerk in various Central Government Ministries / Departments / Offices.

Tentative vacancies:
For the post of Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant: 3523
For Lower Divisional Clerk: 2049
For the post of Data Entry Operator: 1006

The exam will comprise a written objective type test with 200 Qs. of 1 mark each to be attempted in 2 hours followed by Data Entry Skill Test/Typing Test.
The paper is divided in 4 sections: (There is no sectional cutoff.)

1. I. General Intelligence (50 Qs.)
2. II. English Language (50 Qs.)
3. III. Quantitative Aptitude (50 Qs.)
4. IV. General Awareness (50 Qs.)

Note: There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Note: The proposal for online examination is under consideration of the Government of India and if approved examination may be held on-line.

Minimum Educational Qualifications for the exam is 12th standard pass (As on 01.08.2015).
Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as on 01.08.2015
Though the eligibility for this exam is class 12th exam only but most of the people, who appear for CGL, appear for it too.
Closing Date for receipt of application: 13.07.2015
Date of Exam: 01.11.2015, 15.11.2015 and 22.11.2015
Payment of Fee: Rs.100

Difficulty level of this exam is not much different from that of CGL. It is in fact, slightly lower.
