IRMA 2015 Exam Analysis

IRMA conducted its test on January 25th, 2015 (Sunday). It should be noted that IRMA will give 20% weightage to this test while shortlisting candidates for the personality assessment round for admission to its Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PRM) and CAT 2014will determine the balance 80% weightage in this shortlisting.

The paper consisted of 8 RC passages followed by 4 to 6 questions, which were a mix of inference based questions from the passage and General Awareness questions on that topic. There was only one individual question on Bhopal Gas Tragedy. The RC passages as expected tested the students on their awareness of“issues of social concern”.  Although the number of questions remained constant – 40 questions in all, but the surprise element was that the paper was allotted 80 minutes unlike 25 minutes allotted tilllast year. Each of the questions had 5 options. There was one mark allotted to every correct answer and one-fourth mark negative marking for every incorrect answer.

The test was along predictable lines (as indicated by the theme “issues of social concern”). The RC passages primarily focused on Rural Unemployment, Poverty, Health issues, Environmental Issues, Disability and Indian Economy.
