RBI Grade B Officers Exam - 2015 Phase I Analysis 22 November, 2015



RBI Grade B Officers Exam-2015 flagged off on 22nd November, 2015. The 120 minutes test is being conducted in two time slots- morning and evening. 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer. All the sections, save English Language section, were available both in English and in Hindi.

General Awareness
There were about 25-27 questions from basic Banking Awareness that the candidates would not have found difficult to attempt. The rest were from Current Affairs and Static G.K. This section was easier as compared to the last year's RBI Grade B Officer's Exam.

English Language

The RC had 10 questions, out of which 4 questions were vocab based. None of the questions were direct. There was a 10 blank Cloze Test, which was easy and a student shouldn't have taken more than 3 minutes to fill in the ten blanks. The 7 sentence Para Jumble set comprising 5 questions was moderately difficult. Sentence Formation questions that made an appearance last year were scrapped off this year. Instead the students were asked questions based on Error Spotting.

Quantitative Aptitude

This section saw questions from varied topics. A question each was based on Mixtures, Percentage, Simple Interest, Age, Mensuration, Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Partnership, Time, Speed and Distance, Boats & Stream. 3 sets of 5 questions each were based on Data Interpretation. 5 questions based on number series were also asked.

This section was dominated by questions based on Arrangement. 5 sets were based on arrangement alone. The other types of questions were based on critical reasoning, inequalities, Coding - Decoding, Syllogism, Input - Output and Data Sufficiency. Compared to the last year, this section was a tad bit difficult.
