Staff Selection Commission (Combined Graduate Level) Tier I Examination 2015 - Afternoon Shift
The pattern of the Staff Selection Commission (Combined Graduate Level) Tier I Examination-2015 conducted on August 09, 2015 was similar to the one conducted last year though the difficulty level of the paper has decreased marginally. The afternoon slot (2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) had at least 8 sets, with a single unique question paper. It was noted that the difficulty level of the paper in the afternoon shift was slightly more in comparison to the morning shift.

Note: Due to the slight increase in the difficulty level of the question paper in the afternoon slot, we can expect the overall cut-off to be nearer to the lower limit of the expected cut-offs.


General Intelligence and Reasoning
In this section, questions were from an array of topics and most of them had a moderate level of difficulty. As compared to last year, the Visual Reasoning questions were easier and the options could easily be negated to reach the correct answer. A student could have easily attempted approximately 34 questions in this section.

General Awareness
This section was on the tougher side in the afternoon shift also. As usual, maximum questions were from Science section (13 in all). These questions were of a high level of difficulty. Miscellaneous GK(Awards, Books & Author, Important Days, etc.) was quantitatively second in number, having 10 questions in all. Economics, History and Geography were on almost equal footage having around 5 questions in every section. Polity had 7 questions in all in this shift. There were 4 questions from Ecology and 2 questions from Computer. There were some tricky questions especially in Science section.

Also, the Data Interpretation questions were slightly more difficult in comparison to last year’s paper. A student could have easily attempted approximately 34 questions in this section.

English Comprehension
The section was dominated by Vocabulary and Grammar questions. In Vocabulary, there were questions on Antonyms, Synonyms, One word Substitution, Sentence Correction and Fill in the Blanks. In Grammar, there were questions of Sentence Correction, Spot the Error and Fill in the Blanks. There were 2 Reading Comprehension Passages with 5 questions each. A student could have easily attempted approximately 35 questions in this section.
