SSC CHSL (10 + 2) Exam-2014 Analysis (2nd November,2014)

The Staff Selection Commission (Combined Higher Secondary Level) Exam, conducted on November 02, 2014, was largely on the lines of the previous year’s paper. Overall, the difficulty level of the paper was low. All sections, except English Language, were available bilingually, that is, in both English and Hindi. Each question had 4 options. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each answer marked incorrectly.

The section primarily saw questions of easy level. A student could have easily attempted about 45 questions in this section.

English Language
This section was dominated by Grammar and Vocabulary. There were questions on Antonyms, Synonyms, One word substitution, Idioms, Sentence Completion, Sentence Correction and Error spotting. There was also a ten blank cloze test.

This section comprised questions from a variety of areas.  A major part of the section was based on Algebra, Trigonometry and Geometry. The paper also had questions from Ratio, Profit & Loss, Averages, Time-Speed-Distance, Time & Work, Percentages and Data Interpretation.

The section was dominated by questions from Economics, Science, Geography, etc.  There were no questions on Current Affairs in the morning slot. However, some questions on the same were asked in the evening slot. An attempt of 15-20 questions could be considered good.
