Tycoons is a national level, personality-centric, on-campus event, which aims at providing a platform to the future youth leaders of our country. Tycoons will be the biggest and grandest on-campus event ever to be conducted in India. An initiative of Career Launcher, the leading education service provider of India, Tycoons provides a platform to hone and showcase the skills of future leaders through a challenging and grueling process. Its participants get an opportunity to interact with like minded aspirants and hone their own skills in their journey towards becoming acknowledged leaders of tomorrow.

In 2005, Tycoons began with humble beginnings as a regional level event. But its excited reception and popularity among the youth propelled its success and scope, year after year. Thus, by 2008, encouraged by student response, Tycoons was taken to a national level. Tycoons 2008 garnered huge success and appreciation, with participation from more than 2 lakh college students from over 1500 colleges situated in about 100 cities across India. Its highlight was a leadership summit that was organized in the national final round and was marked by the presence of distinguished guests, achievers from various walks of life, among the likes of - Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (Olympic silver medalist), Tarun Tejpal (CEO, Tehelka), Arvind Kejriwal (Ramon Magaysay Emergent Leadership Winner), Suhasini Haider (Deputy Foreign Editor, CNN-IBN) and Lt Gen (Retd.) SS Mehta (Director General, CII).

Nishith Rastogi (winner) : Nishith is a student of BITS, Goa campus. He is a budding entrepreneur and is fascinated with business start-ups. He is also a keen learner of ‘computational linguistics’ and has been working on many projects on the same.

Abhishek Humbad (1st runner up) : Abhishek is an engineering student at BITS, Pilani. Abhishek, while still pursuing his studies, is the founder of an environment and energy consultancy firm specializing in carbon credits in rural India.

Zoya Mehani (2nd runner up) : Zoya is from Dehradun Institute of Technology. An active member of the rotary club,
Zoya has been part of many social upliftment projects. She is also a dance enthusiast and has participated in competitions
for various dance forms.

Tycoons 2009 is being prepared to out-reach its predecessor in every aspect, towards a level not yet explored. With an enhanced scope, covering 2000 colleges, spread over 110 cities, it will be engaging over 3 lakh contestants.The participants will need to go through more than 12 challenging levels, to evaluate their leadership qualities, and compete with the best youth minds of India. The rounds have been pepped up, to ensure that the contest brings out the best in the participants and is exciting and interesting as well. New rounds such as celebrity interview, social contribution and talent hunt have been included this year to make the contest exciting and more competitive.

Feeding off past-experience, the contest is designed to be more challenging, stimulating and interesting than ever before, so that regardless of the level they reach, each participant shall walk home with a rewarding experience. But the real cherry on the cake shall be the media coverage, which would ensure the winners and participants their due fame and praise.

For those of you thinking Tycoons is limited to these 3 months of on-ground event, let’s assure you that it will be much more than just that! The association of the contestants, judges, guests and exchange of thoughts will continue even after the final Graduation Ceremony is over. This will be done through the Tycoons website, blogs and online forums.
