Remote education programme over Hughes VSAT network concludes successfully

JUNE 28, 2003: Career Launcher and Hughes Escorts Communication Ltd. (HECL) successfully completed a month-long CBSE Launchpad programme. Over 100 hours of lectures in science, maths and social sciences were delivered over VSAT to more than a 100 students attending the broadcast in six different locations.

For the first time, students of Class 10 attended the programme which did not have a teacher physically present with them. All students followed an expert faculty who taught remotely from a studio in the HECL premises. State of the art electronic teaching material was used. This included animations and illustrations along with printed study material.

"Our investment in the latest delivery technologies stands vindicated," said Mr. Satya Narayanan, Chairman, Career Launcher. "We took a big risk and the feedback from the parents and student community has been far above our own expectations. Many parents have demanded continuation of the same form of education for other grades as well. We will continue to invest in new technologies to improve education delivery," he added.
