About St. Xavier's Mumbai


Xavier's BMS Entrance Test is an entrance test for the admissions to Bachelor of Management studies (BMS) programme at St. Xavier’s Mumbai.

St-Xavier's Eligibility Criteria


  • The candidates should pass 10+2 final exam from a recognized board or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (55% for reserved category candidates).
  • The General Category (GC) candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st June 1992 are eligible to appear for the Entrance Exams BMS 2015.
  • Candidates belonging to the Catholic religious community and SC/ST candidates who are born on or after 1stJune 1990 are eligible to appear for the exam.

St. Xavier's Mumbai Selection Procedure


Selection is the process of choosing the most suitable student out of all applicants and the selection process varies for different colleges and exams. Based on the different selection criteria students are selected for a particular course.

The selection procedure is based on 2 factors:

  • Performance in the entrance exam (60%)
  • marks obtained in the Std. XII Exam(qualifying exam - QE) (40%)

St-Xavier's Exam Pattern


  • The duration of the exam will be 2 hours
  • The question paper will consist of 2 sections - objective as well as subjective questions.
  • The language of the exam will be English.
  • The sections of the BMS entrance exam are as follows:
  • General Knowledge Current Affairs
  • Data Interpretation
  • Basic Mathematics
  • Verbal Ability
  • Reasoning/Critical Thinking

Minimum Percentage of marks in QE:-

  • Candidates belonging to the General Category, must secure at least 65% marks in aggregate in their QE.
  • Candidates from the Minority Community must secure at least 60% in the QE.
  • SC/ST candidates must secure at least 55% marks in their QE.
