About IIHM ECHAT

It is the acronym for International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) Electronic Common Hotel Admission Test.
It offers admission to candidates in hotel management programmes on offer by the institute. This entrance test is also known by the name of – Combined Hospitality Aptitude Test. It is a computer based test.

IIHM ECHAT Eligibility Criteria

  • Should have cleared their intermediate or equivalent examination with minimum 50% aggregate.
  • Should have cleared the intermediate or equivalent exam with English as a core subject.
  • Aspirants, who are pursuing their last year of intermediate studies, also meet the IIHM eCHAT eligibility criteria.
  • Age limit: 17-22 years as on July 1, 2016.

IIHM ECHAT Selection Procedure

Selection is the process of choosing the most suitable student out of all applicants and the selection process varies for different colleges and exams. Based on the different selection criteria students are selected for a particular course.

The selection process of IIHM ECHAT is based on 2 factors:

  • Echat entrance test
  • Group discussion And Personal Interview

IIHM ECHAT Entrance Exam Pattern:

Candidates are tested in various grounds in IIHM entrance exam. The test paper for IIHM contains many different styles of questions in order to test the aptitude as well as skills of aspirants. Some of the question formats in which candidates will be tested in IIHM are as follows:

  • Multiple choices
  • True/False
  • Text fill-in-the-blank
  • Numeric fill-in-the-blank
  • Multiple selection (Student can select multiple answers in such questions)
  • Picture-click multiple choice
  • IIHM eCHAT exam pattern is such that it contains objective type multiple-choice questions.
  • It will comprise of language comprehension, mathematical skills, data analysis and interpretation, intelligence and critical reasoning, awareness of Indian & Global Economy.

Candidates will have to attempt 45 questions in a given time duration of 60 minutes in IIHM entrance exam 2016.

Candidates will receive their IIHM eCHAT scorecard within 24 hours of them appearing for the entrance test.
