The revised XAT exam pattern 2025 has been announced, and significant changes have been observed in the latest exam structure and XAT paper pattern. The Essay Writing section has been scraped out, and the number of questions in the General Knowledge section has been reduced. The duration has also been reduced from 210 minutes to 180 minutes.
As per the latest XAT exam pattern 2025, the question paper will be divided into two parts, which can be categorized as follows:
> The first part of the XAT 2025 question paper will comprise three sections, namely:
> Decision-making
> Verbal & Logical Ability
> Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation
(Mark that Candidates will have 170 minutes to solve the questions in the first part, and there will be no sectional time limitation.)
> The second part will include a General Knowledge section of 10 minutes.
Note: PwD candidates will get an extra 20 minutes for each section.
Each section of XAT 2025 will have 20-28 MCQs with five options to choose the right answer. The score of the GK section will be used for the final selection process. Its score will not be added to the XAT result for 2025.

XAT Exam Pattern 2025: Marking Scheme
The XAT exam pattern also includes detailed guidelines regarding the XAT marking scheme. It includes details for mark distribution per correct, incorrect, and unattempted questions in the XAT paper. The following is the brief XAT 2025 marking scheme.
> For every correct answer in the MCQs, 1 mark will be awarded.
> For every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
> If there are more than 8 unattempted questions, a 0.10 mark will be deducted for each unanswered question.
> Scores of General Knowledge section is only for final selection and not for shortlisting candidates for GD/Interview.
Revised XAT 2025 Exam Pattern: Major Changes
There have been some revisions made to the XAT exam pattern 2025 by XLRI Jamshedpur. Starting from this year, the Analytical Essay Writing (AEW) section has been removed from the XAT exam and will be conducted during the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. The detailed changes in the XAT paper exam are as follows:
> The duration of XAT 2025 has been reduced from 210 minutes to 180 minutes.
> The total number of questions in XAT 2025 has been reduced from 105 to 95.
> The time duration of the GK section in XAT 2025 has been reduced to 10 minutes, with the total number of questions being decreased to 20, which were earlier 25.
> XLRI will conduct the Essay Writing Test during the GD-PI Round, which was previously conducted along with the computer-based test.
