CAT 2023 is around 7 months away so formulate a strategy to ace CAT and get admission to your dream B-school. Aspirants planning to appear for CAT can start their preparation by self-study and can also seek guidance through online/ offline CAT courses. But ensure that you opt for the best courses to access accurate CAT study materials and a precise monthly study plan. If you are planning to study all by yourself, then you have some extra work on your hands as you must prepare for CAT from scratch.

But to help you on your journey, here are a few tips on how to prepare for CAT in seven months:

  • Month 1-3: During these three months, aspirants must become completely familiar with at least one or two sections and then move to the new section and topics. Aspirants should be well-acquainted with the syllabus and must refer to the question papers and answer keys of the previous years. Taking notes of important topics will be a great benefit as it will help you remember.

  • Month 4-5: Begin by going through the basics and understanding key points from all areas. This is the month to also improve speed and accuracy when making estimations. Aspirants should begin concentrating on overcoming their weaknesses by taking mock tests and solving previous years’ questions. Revise the topics on a daily basis for better insight.

  • Month 6: By this month, aspirants should have thoroughly covered the basics and essential topics of all areas. The focus should shift to learning shortcuts and revisions. Increase the number of mock tests you attempt to improve your performance and improve the chances of acing the exam.

  • Month 7: As this is the last month for CAT preparation, aspirants should concentrate more on giving mocks, strengthening the topics that they have learned, and focusing on their strong areas. Trying to learn new topics should be avoided. Keep revising what you have learned until the day of the CAT exam.
