IIM JAP 2026 For MBA: The Indian Institute of Management Kashipur, Raipur, Ranchi and Tiruchirapalli have announced the launch of the Joint Admission Process (JAP) for MBA Admissions 2026.

Admissions under the JAP will be based on the CAT percentile, academic performance, work experience and diversity consideration. According to the joint management, the eligibility criteria will remain consistent with those of previous cycles, with adjustments made to expand access to qualified candidates. This was done to streamline, standardise and simplify the admission process across these 4 institutions.

Who Is Eligible Under Joint Admission Process (JAP) 2026

Candidates who meet the conditions provided by JAP can take admission under it. There are two eligibility:

  • Candidates appearing for the CAT 2025 and securing a valid score and meeting a minimum percentile cut-off of the participating IIMs are eligible.
  • A bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates)

For any change, we recommend that you check the official website of the institute. While the admission is by a joint process, the cut-offs are usually decided by the IIMs themselves.

Key Features Of The IIM JAP

JAP has come as a big convenience for MBA candidates appearing for 2025. Let’s see the key features for IIM JAP.

  1. Participating IIMs: There are 4 IIMs under JAP, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Tiruchirapalli.
  2. Application Process: Once the CAT results are declared in early January 2026, Candidates who appeared for the exam in November can now apply for all 4 institutes through a single unified portal.
  3. Selection Rounds: The process of the JAP involves the joint shortlisting decided by all 4 institutes. It includes a written ability test (WAT), followed by the personal interview (PI).
  4. Coordination: IIM Raipur acts as the coordinating body for the entire JAP 2026 process.

Why Is JAP Important For MBA 2026

MBA form filling for IIMs is not an easy process. However, with JAP, the hassle of checking multiple eligibility criteria and deadlines has been eliminated. Now, the candidates can take advantage of the JAP 2026.

Single Process for Multiple IIMs:

JAP allows candidates to appear for a single selection round (Personal Interview, Written Ability Test, etc.) that is considered by multiple IIMs, saving time and effort.

Centralised Evaluation:

Instead of attending interviews at each IIM separately, JAP uses a common evaluation framework, ensuring uniformity and fairness in the selection process.

Reduces Overlap & Stress:

It eliminates the need to travel to different campuses or attend several interviews on different dates, making the process more efficient and less stressful.

Higher Chances of Selection:

Since the same performance is shared with multiple IIMs, candidates have better chances of getting shortlisted by one or more institutes through a single effort.
