The XAT 2026 exam date has been announced by XLRI with the release of the XAT exam notification on July 10, 2025, at its official website –https://xatonline.in/. The XAT 2026 exam will be held on January 4, 2026, from 2 PM to 5 PM.

This XAT notification marks the beginning of the XAT 2026 registration process from July 10, 2025, onwards. All interested students can go to the official XAT website and apply for the same. The last date to fill out the XAT application form is said to be December 5, 2025, which may be extended further based on student demand.

Given below is the step-by-step XAT Registration Process 2026. All serious XAT takers must hurry and fill out the XAT application form to avoid any last-minute hassle:

  1. Go to xatonline.in and click “New Registration”/“Register Online.”
  2. Enter your name, email, mobile number, and set a password. You’ll receive a login ID via email and SMS.
  3. Log in, then fill in personal, academic, work experience, and exam-city preferences.
  4. If applying to XLRI programmes, choose your programme(s) (₹200 extra per programme).
  5. Upload your photo (200×230 px, 20–50 KB) and signature (10–20 KB) as per specs.
  6. Review the form carefully (no major edits allowed after submission).
  7. Pay the fee online, submit your form, and then download and save the confirmation.

XAT 2026 Exam Pattern (No Change)

  • The XAT paper pattern and duration remain unchanged: 95 MCQs in 180 minutes, split across Decision Making, VA & LR, and QA & DI, plus 10 minutes for the General Knowledge section at the end.
  • The XAT marking scheme includes +1 for correct answers, –0.25 for wrong answers, and –0.10 for 8 or more skipped questions in a row; GK is uncounted in the score.
  • The essay writing section has been removed from the exam and will now appear during selection rounds.
  • There are no TITA (Type In The Answer) questions—only pure MCQ format.
