The XAT exam pattern differs from that of many other MBA entrance exams. Along with testing aptitude, XAT assesses a candidate’s ability to interpret information, evaluate situations, and make sound decisions. Understanding the XAT paper pattern beforehand can therefore help candidates approach their XAT preparation with greater clarity.
The XAT 2027 is scheduled for 3rd January 2027, following the CAT exam. For candidates preparing for both exams, this provides limited time to shift their focus towards the specific requirements of XAT. Knowing the exam structure in advance can help make this transition more focused and effective.
In this article, we cover the XAT 2027 exam pattern in detail, including its section-wise structure, marking scheme, exam duration, syllabus overview, and key areas to focus on.
Pattern is based on the recent XAT papers and the XAT 2027 notification (exam date: 3 January 2027, 2:00 PM-5:00 PM).
Before attempting XAT 2027, it is important to have a comprehensive understanding of its XAT exam format to know what the paper looks like, which will provide a better vision of the exam and help you prepare effectively.
The table given below briefly explains the XAT exam structure, based on XAT previous year papers, to provide you with a fair idea of what can be expected from a candidate.
