DU CSAS Registration & Tiebreaker rule for
Admission

The University
of Delhi offers approximately 70,000 seats for different UG courses across 90+
constituent colleges. The DU CSAS Portal allows students to select courses and
colleges of their interest and provides a centralized platform for colleges to
offer seats based on merit (CUET scorecard).

Process
for DU admission:

  • Apply and write the CUET 2023
  • DO your DU CSAS registration
  • Take part in the counselling
    process
  • Get your college and course

To be
eligible for DU CSAS registration students must have written the CUET 2023
entrance test and also completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination with a
minimum aggregate score of 45% marks (5% relaxation will be provided to the
category students). However, the specific eligibility criteria may vary from
college to college. Therefore, it is recommended to check the official website
of each college for specific eligibility criteria.

The 2nd
phase of DU CSAS registration process is ongoing. Students must check the
criteria and documents required, and fill up the registration form as soon as
possible.

With the
number of applicants and the test takers, there is always a high possibility
that there might be more than one student with the same CUET score opting for
the same college and the same course. What happens in such a scenario for DU
admission process, and who gets to bag the seat?

In an
interesting move regarding UG admission, the University of Delhi (DU) has
declared a special tiebreaker rule to decide such cases of students with tied
CUET score. DU has declared that in case the CUET score of the students is a
tie, it will consider the class 12th marks of the student (best of 3, 4, and 5
respectively) and as the last criterion, the age of the candidate will be
considered. The seat will be awarded to the older student. Though no other
university has officially confirmed the same, many others are expected to
follow the same. This again brings back the importance of class 12th results in
play. Therefore, students need to keep in mind that apart from the CUET 2023
result they have an equally good score in their Boards. Both the results
together can only ensure you a seat in the top colleges with a course of your
choice.
