How Many Universities Can be Opted in the CUET Form, Will Students be Eligible for Other Universities if They Fail to Opt?
The straightforward answer is, that a student can apply to as many universities as they want in the CUET form. The application fees depend on the number of subjects you choose to appear in and not the number of universities you have opted for. Moreover, there is no provision made by the NTA or the UGC that a student can only be admitted to the universities they have opted for in their CUET form. Therefore, even if a student has filled out only one university in the CUET form, he/she is eligible to participate in the common seat allocation / counselling process of all 250+ universities. Provided they meet the eligibility criteria for the course in that university and they have registered for the counselling process of that specific university.
However, the admission process and eligibility criteria may vary depending on the university’s policies and guidelines. Therefore, students are advised to visit the official website of the universities they are targeting for UG admissions and check the detailed course-wise eligibility. They should only register for the counselling process if they meet the desired eligibility and have a valid CUET scorecard.
Here are a few points to consider:
> Opting for CUET is important, irrespective of the university choices
> Write CUET and have a valid scorecard
> Perform well in the CUET
> Review the university’s admission process
> Check, if you fulfill the eligibility criteria
> Register for the counselling process
Remember that each university has its own admission policies, and it’s essential to comply with their specific requirements and deadlines. However, it’s important to note that the deadline for registering for the specific university counselling process must not have already passed.
