IIM Jammu has officially announced a new and more holistic selection process for its Integrated Program in Management (IPM) Course. This updated IIM Jammu IPM Selection Criteria will be applicable from the 2026–2031 batch onward and marks a major shift from the earlier process.

For the first time, the institute will evaluate students not only on their JIPMAT performance but also on their past academic scores, making the admission process more comprehensive and shifting the focus to candidates who have consistently performed well throughout the years, not just in the JIPMAT.

This article covers the updated selection criteria, the total number of seats, and the reservation policy for IIM Jammu IPM admissions.

IIM Jammu IPM 2026 Total Seats

IIM Jammu has announced a total intake of 140 seats for its IPM program. These seats will be filled strictly based on:

  • The newly introduced IIM Jammu IPM Selection Criteria.

  • The Government of India reservation policy, followed by the institute.

With a fixed number of seats and high demand, understanding the selection process becomes extremely important for aspirants.

IIM Jammu IPM 2026 Selection Criteria

The revised IIM Jammu IPM selection criteria now consist of three components:

  1. JIPMAT Score – Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), JIPMAT remains the primary entrance test for IPM aspirants.

  2. Class 10th Marks

  3. Class 12th Marks

This change shifts the focus to consistent academic performance, ensuring that students who have done well in school are also rewarded during the selection process.

On what basis will the IIM Jammu IPM 2026 Merit List be made?

The IIM Jammu IPM Merit List will be made based on the JIPMAT percentile, as well as class 10th and 12th performance. By combining entrance test performance with past exam scores, IIM Jammu aims to select well-rounded candidates who have shown consistent academic performance throughout the years.

Components Weightage
JIPMAT Percentile 70%
Class 10 Marks 15%
Class 12 Marks 15%

Thus, the JIPMAT score is still the most important determinant in the final selection of a candidate; however, the past academic marks also account for a significant 30% and should not be ignored. Hence, all aspirants aiming to get into IIM Jammu must focus on both their JIPMAT preparation, as well as maintaining good marks in their board exams.

IIM Jammu IPM 2026 Reservation Policy

IIM Jammu follows the Government of India reservation policy to ensure equal opportunity for all candidates. The IIM Jammu Reservation Policy is as follows.

Category % Reservation
Scheduled Caste 15
Scheduled Tribe 7.5
NC – OBC 27
EWS 10
PwD 5

These reservations apply to the total seats available in the program and will be reflected in the final merit list.

IIM Bodhgaya IPM 2026 Selection Criteria

Unlike IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya has not introduced any changes to its admission process. As of now:

  • IIM Bodh Gaya IPM admissions are based solely on the JIPMAT score.

  • No additional weightage is given to Class 10th or 12th marks.

  • Any changes, if announced in the future, will be updated by the institute.

This makes JIPMAT the single deciding factor for admission into IIM Bodh Gaya’s IPM program.

Conclusion

The new IIM Jammu IPM Selection Criteria marks a significant step toward a more balanced admissions process. By including Class 10th and 12th marks in the overall assessment of a candidate, the institute aims to find students who demonstrate consistent academic performance over the years.

For aspirants, this means that preparing well for JIPMAT continues to be crucial, but good marks in board exams now play an important role as well. As the competition for seats in the best management programs in the country grows, staying updated with the latest changes, and altering their preparation strategy accordingly is crucial for any IIM aspirant.
