IIM Bangalore Admission Process 2025
At the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), the admission process for the PGDM (2026-28) will be carried out in 3 stages, which are as follows:
Round 1- Preliminary Screenings
Candidates who clear CAT cutoff get screened based on a composite score (CS), which would comprise an academic rating score (AR) (including 10th marks, 12th marks, & work experience) & a normalised overall CAT score.
Exceptions: The top 10 scorers from the CAT exam and the top 10 candidates from CA/ICWA/CS automatically qualify for the WAT-PI (Written Ability Test and Personal Interview).
Round 2- Shortlisting for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) & Personal Interview (PI)
The best candidates with exemplary academic records and CAT scores from varied academic backgrounds get shortlisted for the PI round based on their Composite Score.
Round 3- IIM Bangalore Final Merit List Criteria
At this stage, candidates separately get shortlisted across each category (General/SC/ST/NC-OBC/PwD) based on their Final Composite Scores (FCS).
The final merit list for IIM Bangalore will be created based on scores from the WAT, PI, CAT, and the candidate's application rating. Each of these elements will be of specific importance in the overall assessment.
IIM Bangalore Waitlist Movement 2025 (Expected)
The first updates for the waitlist at IIM Bangalore will be released after the first round of admissions in May 2025. It's not clear yet if the waitlists will be active or usable at that time. Students on the waitlist should keep an eye on their emails and the official website, as changes to the waitlist will happen between April and June 2025.
We cannot say for sure how many people will be admitted after the waitlist movement. However, based on last year's results, we can expect the numbers to be similar, though they may fluctuate as well.

> Higher Importance for Personal Interviews (PI): Personal interviews now account for 40% of the final selection (up from 35%).
> Reintroduced Weightage for Graduation Scores: Graduation marks are now included again, carrying 10% weight before the personal interview and 5% weight after the interview, after being absent for a year.
> Focus on Work Experience Quality: After the personal interview, candidates are assessed based on the quality of their work experience, looking at factors like relevance and leadership roles, instead of just the number of years they've worked.
