IIM Calcutta

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta is the oldest IIM. It was established in November, 1961, by the Government of India in collaboration with Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), the Government of West Bengal. IIM-C is the only institute that carries triple accreditations to its name- AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB. IIM Calcutta is considered as one of the best business schools in the world.

IIM Calcutta Admission Process

Admission Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates are expected to have appeared CAT with a minimum score percentile for the consideration of admission.
• Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree of 50% marks minimum or an equivalent CGPA (45% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD category).
• The bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification must be of three years minimum after the completion of higher secondary education.
• If the candidate holds grades/CGPA instead of percentage marks, the equivalence is based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained from. If the certification of the equivalence is unavailable from the desired university, the equivalence is certified by IIM Calcutta.
• Undergraduates in their final year/ awaiting the final results are eligible to apply for admissions. However, candidates are required to present a certificate from the current university/institute’s head determining/confirming the same on his or her behalf.
• Should the candidate get selected for admission, he/she is expected to submit the official confirmation certificate from the current undergraduate university/institute latest by June 30, 2019.
• Selected candidates are supposed to submit their mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination held on or before June 30, 2019, latest by December 31, 2019.

Admission Criteria

IIM Calcutta Admission Criteria consist of two stages- the first stage is the preliminary screening where the weightage is divided between CAT exam score, academic record, and other factors (higher weightage to CAT). The second stage is the Personal Interview (PI) and Academic Writing Test (AWT).

Candidates must score a minimum sectional percentile score of 80 in all the three sections separately with an overall percentile of 90.
