IIM-I Introduction

Established in 1996, Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM-I) is the 6th IIM to be instituted by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.IIM Indore is registered as a Society under Societies Registration Act, 1973. The institute opened a campus in Mumbai in 2011 where it offers its two-year flagship PGP program. Commonly known as IIM-I, IIM Indore is one of the top A listed B schools in India. Owning up to “triple crown” of AMBA, ASSCB and EQUIS accreditations, IIM I offers 90 student exchange programs across 16 countries. It has been ranked among top 100 in Financial Times’ list and 7th in the MHRD NIRF Rankings 2020 list. The major programs offered by IIM-I are:

  • Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM)
  • IIM Indore’s flagship two-year, full-time, residential programme

  • Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP)
  • An intensive one year residential program

  • Post Graduate Programme at Mumbai (PGP-Mumbai)
  • IIM Indore's flagship two-year, full-time, residential programme conducted at IIM Indore Mumbai Campus

  • Five Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM)

The first of its kind, IIM Indore’s IPM programme is a unique 5 year integrated program aimed at students who have passed out of class XII/Higher Secondary or equivalent from various schools in India. The program was started in November 2011 and it is the only undergraduate program offered by any IIM.

The course, in the first 3 years, is a good mix of social sciences, commerce, and science. Core management subjects are taught in the last two years.

Despite of being an extremely creative and unique program, the IPM program faces criticism by the other IIMs since it took away the post graduate tag of the IIMs.

  • Post Graduate Programme in Management for Working Executives (PGPMX) in Mumbai

Two-year, part time Post Graduate Programme in Management for Working Executives conducted at alternate weekends in IIM Indore Mumbai Campus.

  • Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management (PGP-HRM)

Two-year, full time residential degree program
