Shri T.A Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) was established in 1980 in the international university town of Manipal, Karnataka. Nestled amid greenery in the serendipity of rural Manipal, TAPMI is one of the premier institutes of the country providing value-based management education. TAPMI has got its recognition/approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is also the fifth B-School in the country to be accredited by the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and Association of MBAs (AMBA).

Eligibility for PGDM (Domestic Candidates)

  • A Bachelor's Degree with minimum aggregate marks of 50% or its equivalent in any discipline duly recognized by UGC/AIU. Final year students are eligible to apply, provided they submit their graduation mark sheet before the commencement of the program
  • If a student receives less than 50% in graduation, their candidature will be cancelled.
  • A valid CAT/XAT/GMAT score.

Eligibility for PGDM (For International Candidates)

NRI candidates who wish to apply for the PGDM program need to match one of the 2 criteria mentioned as under: 

  • A bachelor’s degree from an international university/institute within the last 3 years 

Or

  • One of the candidate's parents needs to be an NRI at the time of applying for the program.

For PIO/Foreign nationals, the eligibility criteria are similar to the first-mentioned criteria, along with valid GMAT and IELTS scores (if required)

Eligibility for PGDM BKFS/PGDM HR/PGDM Marketing

  • Candidates should have acquired a master's degree in management or related discipline as per their area of interest, with a minimum of 60% marks, from a recognized university/institute in India or abroad. If a candidate has pursued a PGDM (Postgraduate diploma in management), the diploma should be recognized by AIU/AICTE

Selection Parameters for Shortlisting

The shortlisting of a student for further admission rounds depend on the exam score, academic background, industry experience, WAT score, GD score and PI score. The weightage given to each parameter is provided below

  • Students with work experience of less than 24 months
    • CAT/XAT: Minimum 85 percentile.
    • GMAT: Minimum 630.
    • Graduation: 60%
    • Class XII: 60%
    • Class X: 60%
  • Students with work experience of more than 24 months
    • Valid CAT/XAT/GMAT scores (whichever is higher).

TAPMI Manipal Admission Procedure

For PGDM/PGDM BKFS/PGDM HR/PGDM Marketing (For candidates with work experience 2 or more than 2 years)

There are 4 stages that a candidate goes through before getting selected for MBA Programme.

  • Candidates are required to appear for the CAT/XAT/GMAT exam. Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in the exam.
  • The shortlisted candidates are called for a round of WAT (Written Ability Test) to critique their writing skills.
  • Based on their performance in the WAT, a candidate is then selected for a GD (Group Discussion) round. The candidates are then handed over a case study to go through and analyze. Evaluation is based on group efforts, contribution to the solution, preferred approach and communication  
  • After this round, a candidate goes through the final round of PI (Personal Interview). The shortlisting is based on the overall performance of the candidate.

TAPMI Manipal Calculation of Composite Scores

Given below is the weightage given to each individual component for the purpose of calculating the overall score of the candidate. Based on these scores, the TAPMI admissions team declares the merit list and the selected candidates receive an offer letter via email.

For E PGPM

  • Applications are invited based on which a candidate is shortlisted.
  • Shortlisted candidates must go through a round of WAT (Written Ability Test)
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for a round of Personal Interviews. Interviews will be held in person whenever possible and maybe conducted via teleconference or video conference facilities in some cases.

  • For FPM
    • A candidate needs to submit an online application form including educational certificates work experience certificate, qualifying exam scorecard, updated CV and research proposal
    • Applications are invited from the interested candidates. The Admissions Committee reviews these applications.
    • The candidates are admitted to the FPM program based on the application itself. Though, some candidates may be called for a personal interview round in order to get more clarity about their application.
