The registrations for CAT 2022 began on 3rd August 2022. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam must fill out the CAT application form 2022 within the application period from 3rd August to 21 September 2022(extended). There are various steps to the CAT application process. Candidates can note that they are not required to fill out the form in one sitting. The form can be saved and continued later on. However, once the payment has been made and the application submitted, the candidate will not be able to make any changes.

Candidates must apply from the official website and register to generate login credentials. After obtaining the credentials, the candidate can begin filling out the CAT application form 2022. These are the steps to filling the CAT application form 2022-

Step 1: Register on the official website

Applicants will be required to enter their name, date of birth, email id and phone number to generate an OTP. The generated OTP must be submitted to complete the registration process. Candidates should mention a valid email id and phone number when registering.

Step 2: Login using the given credentials

After registration, the candidate will receive the credentials on their phone number and email. These can be used to log in to the official site of CAT 2022.

Step 3: Filling the CAT Application Form 2022

The CAT application form 2022 is divided into six categories which are as follows:

  • Academics
  • Work Experience
  • Programmes
  • Test City
  • Payment

Candidates should read the instructions carefully before filling out the CAT application form 2022. You can save & exit from the form and continue the form filling later. However, candidates cannot move to the next section till the previous section has been completed.

Step 4: Make the payment

After filling and reviewing all the information you can proceed to make the payment. The payment will be online and the registration will not be completed till the payment is processed.

CAT Application Form 2022: Personal Details

Candidates must fill in their personal details and upload the necessary documents in this section. The details required in the form are as follows-

  • Candidate’s Name
  • Father’s and Mother’s/Guardian’s Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Nationality

  • Address
  • Emergency Contact

Candidate will be required to upload the following documents in their designated dimensions

CAT Exam Form 2022: Academic Qualifications

In this section, candidates will be required to fill in the following details-

  • SSC/10th/Equivalent
  • HSC/12th/Equivalent/Diploma Course
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Master’s Degree
  • Other Professional Degree

CAT Exam Form 2022: Work Experience

In this section, candidates must select the industry in which they have experience and fill in the relevant details. The total work experience should be calculated in days until July 31, 2022.

Note: Only full-time experience should be included in this section. Internships/ part-time/ articleship/ project/ pre-graduation will not be included in work experience.

CAT Exam Form 2022: Programmes

In the next step, the candidates will have to select the programmes for which they wish to apply. Alongside, you will have to mention the preferred interview city for every programme.

For the IIMs under the Common Admission Process (i.e. IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Tiruchirappalli, IIM Udaipur, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu and IIM Sambalpur) candidates must choose the same interview city.

CAT Exam Form 2022: Test City

According to the CAT notification, candidates must choose 6 preferred test cities in order of preference. Based on availability the candidate will be allotted one test city.

If the convening IIM is unable to allot any of the preferred cities, the candidate will be allotted the nearest test city to the preferred location.

After completing the entire CAT application form 2022 the candidate will be required to pay the application fee to complete the registration process. Given below is the application fee-

The candidate must then enter the characters displayed in the captcha and submit. This will be followed by the payment gateway and candidates will be required to make the payment. After making the payment, the page will display a “Payment Successful” message.

After successfully submitting the application, candidates will receive a confirmation mail within the next few minutes. Upon logging in to the official website, the candidate will also be able to view the CAT 2022 application details.

FAQs

According to the notification, while filling out the CAT application form 2022, a candidate must upload a copy of the certificate. During the interview rounds, you will be required to present the original certificate and submit a copy as well.

The reservation certificate is required during the interview process after CAT. Candidates who fail to do so will be considered in the general category.

Yes, you can renew the certificate in February. Just ensure that you apply on time well before the interview round begins.

To calculate the percentage obtained in 12th, you must consider the total marks obtained in all subjects against the maximum marks. The percentage must then be rounded off to two decimal places.
So, 12th percentage= Marks Obtained / Maximum Marks * 100

For the graduation marks, the aggregate percentage must be calculated based on the university/ college norms. If no norms are established by the institute, you must calculate the percentage based on total marks obtained for all terms of the course.

In the case of a CGPA, the conversion to percentage will be made based on the guidelines of the institute awarding the same. In case no norms are established, the percentage will be calculated by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying by 100.

For a 5-year integrated course, a candidate can fill in the information in the Bachelor’s Degree section. Under the ‘Bachelor’s Degree Details’, you will find the option of a dual degree or 5-year integrated course. You can select ‘yes’ and fill in the information accordingly.

For a candidate who is still working full-time, the experience can be counted till 31st July 2022. Details including Industry type and Experience in days must be calculated and listed for each industry in which the candidate has worked.

Candidates applying for CAT 2022 must calculate their work experience in days as on 31st July 2022. Only full-time work experience must be counted towards this section.
