INTRO
FMS, established in 1954 under the aegis of the Delhi University, is one of the oldest B-schools in India. FMS started of in the premises of the Delhi School of Economics. Later, the department of commerce of the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), now the Delhi Technological University (DTU), was abolished and the Faculty of Management Studies was established. Currently, FMS offers the following programs:

Gender Diversity
The graph gives a picture of the gender diversity in the 2012-14 batch of FMS. As evident, the batch is highly male dominated.

Work Experience Based Diversity
The placement process is conducted in two stages. The first is the laterals process where the firms interview the students with more than 18 months of work experience and offer them mid-level managerial positions. In the second stage the firms are grouped into clusters/cohorts and the students with no or less work experience participate in the process.
In the final placements of the 2013-15 batch, the average compensation for the batch of 217 students was Rs. 17.04 LPA. The average compensation for the top 50% offers made was Rs. 20.46 LPA. There had been a 58% increase in the number of PPOs offered as compared to the previous year.

The summer placement for the batch of 2014-2016 was successfully completed. The batch of around 219 participating studentswas placed within 3.5 days. Over 87 companies participated in the summer placements this year with around 36 first-time recruiters. Companies of different sectors hired candidates for a wide range of functions.
