Management Aptitude Test (MAT), 4th February 2018 (Paper Based) - Exam Analysis



The paper based Management Aptitude Test (MAT) was conducted on 4th February 2018. The test pattern was similar to previous years' papers i.e. 200 questions divided into 5 parts with +1 and -0.25 marking scheme for correct and wrong answers respectively. The overall difficulty level was Moderate.

Intelligence and Critical Reasoning

In this section, there were questions from both verbal reasoning and quant based reasoning. This section was consisting of Logical Reasoning and Analytical reasoning but few questions were on Critical Reasoning as well. There were questions on Calendar, Blood Relations, Characteristics and Traits, Directions, Series based and analogy in LR section.

Mathematical Skills

Like other year's question papers, Arithmetic was dominating. 16 questions were from Arithmetic and most of the questions were moderate level. Topics covered in this section were TSD, percentage, average, time and work, CI/SI etc. Other questions were from geometry, mensuration, equations, P & C, probability and miscellaneous.

Data Analysis and Sufficiency

Data Interpretation was more dominating in this section. Table Based, Line graph, Bar Graphs and Pie Charts were present in DI, and rest were Comparisons and data sufficiency in this section. Questions were calculation based and a bit tricky, which made this section of MODERATE difficulty.

Indian and Global Environment

Overall, the paper was of moderate difficulty level and an attempt of 118 to 122 questions can be considered as a good attempt.
