The MBA Profilizer is built using historical data of past students who have received verified calls from the IIMs / top B-schools. The latest admission policy documents of each IIM are consulted to understand the formula used by the IIMs for creating the interview shortlists. AI based tools are used to simulate the score calculators of each b-school individually. Since CL has a depth of data of past students we are able to predict to a good degree of accuracy the impact of academic scores , work ex , gender diversity. Once you submit your profile to us, we are able to back calculate the percentile required. This percentile is uniquely calculated for each and every student, and no two students are likely to see the exact same percentile cut offs.
You must specify the precise academic scores secured in 10th/12th/Graduation and total Work experience in Months at the time of writing CAT. Also your category, academic stream and gender must be correctly provided
The selection criteria of each and every B-school is different and also sometimes very complicated. Even the most experienced faculty cannot keep track of the formulae and can only give broad recommendations to a student about the percentiles required to secure a call. The profilizer will likely perform better than a human input in most circumstances. We have backtested the recommendations of the profilizer on a database of over 5000+ calls of IIM intake of 2023 and the accuracy of 95% was observed in True Positives samples ( actual call getter who got a percentile higher than our predicted cut off)
There are several limitations or approximations which are to be noted
a) In a few b-schools academic diversity points are granted for Masters or Professional Degrees - for the sake of simplicity we have ignored these inputs as it affect few students in just a couple of b-schools
b) The z-scores used in the calculation of 10/12 board scores are often based on the relative scores of total applicants. Several IIMs normalize the scores across boards and across years. We do not have enough reliable data to do the same and we have treated all boards the same across multiple years.
c) The work ex data in our system is self declared by students - it is hard to validate these data in the same way an IIM can, and hence will have a tendency to have more errors than other academic data.
d) Non -IIMS do not reveal their exact formula of creating the interview short list. These have been estimated using statistical means on aggregate data.
The profilizer simulates the probability of getting an interview call only. Final admission criteria are significantly different, where the interview and WAT scores come into play. Additionally certain other criteria can be considered which were not considered at the time of shortlisting for interview.
