Step 1: Review Your Set Selection
Your first choice of set often decides your performance. After every mock, ask yourself:
Did I pick the right set to start with?
Did I waste time on a lengthy or confusing one?
Remember, CAT toppers usually solve 2–3 sets with high accuracy instead of attempting everything. Build the ability to identify “doable” sets quickly.
Check the sets you attempted and note:
Time taken per set
Accuracy (questions correct out of total)
If you spent 15 minutes on a 4-question set but got only one correct, that’s inefficient. If you solved fast but made silly errors, focus on accuracy.
Ideal target: 2–3 sets, 80–90% accuracy, within 25 minutes.
Don’t ignore the sets you skipped during the mock. Re-attempt them without time pressure:
Were they actually tough, or did they just appear lengthy?
Could a better approach have worked?
This builds confidence and prevents panic if a similar set appears in the real exam.
