The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2026 is scheduled for 4 January 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in computer-based mode across India.
This guide lists the most important Do’s and Don’ts you must follow before leaving for the centre, during the exam, and after the test ends.
Before you leave in the morning, ensure you have all of these:
â Printed XAT 2026 admit card (on A4 paper) – preferably two copies with your photo pasted where required. â Original, valid photo ID proof (Aadhar Card, Passport, Voter ID, PAN card or Driving Licence) — must match what’s on your admit card. â A passport-size photograph (same as uploaded, in case asked).
ð« Without these, you will NOT be allowed entry.
ð Your admit card will show the reporting time (generally around 1:00 PM for 2:00 PM start).
Reach at least 60–90 minutes early to complete entry formalities and biometric checks smoothly.
Wear comfortable, light clothing without unnecessary layers, big pockets, or metal accessories. This speeds up security checking.
Once you’re seated and logged in:
â¡ Take a moment to read all instructions displayed on the computer screen before starting the test.
This ensures you don’t get tripped up by navigation or rule details.
XAT usually has sections like:
Decision Making
Verbal & Logical Ability
Quantitative Ability & DI
General Knowledge (short and separate)
Plan your time wisely, attempt easier questions first, and mark tricky ones for review.
Think clear, stay positive — panic only costs time and accuracy. If you get stuck, move on and return later if time permits.
Keep these at home:
â Mobile phones
â Smartwatches or any electronic gadgets
â Calculator (on-screen calculator is provided)
â Bags, notes, loose papers, or any study material
Possessing these can lead to disqualification.
Late entry is not allowed at any cost. Even traffic delays won’t be considered. Plan your route and leave early.
Follow all instructions given by exam centre staff — that includes:
Seat allocation
Starting/ending announcements
Rough sheet handling
The day before and the morning of the exam is not for heavy studying.
Relax, get good rest, visualize success, and keep your mind clear.
If a question looks too long or confusing, mark it and move on. Wasting precious time early can cost you in overall score.
Before sleeping tonight:
â Print & verify your admit card + photo ID
â Check exam centre location & travel plan
â Charge your commute device (not for exam centre!)
â Eat light and sleep early
â Avoid last-minute revisions — keep calm
| Stage | DO’s | DON’Ts |
|---|---|---|
| Before Leaving Home | Carry admit card + ID | Don’t forget documents |
| At Exam Centre | Reach early | Don’t arrive late |
| During Exam | Follow instructions | Don’t use gadgets |
| Time Management | Prioritize & move on | Don’t fixate on one Q |
Remember: You’ve prepared for months — now it’s time to execute with calm, clarity, and confidence.
All the best for XAT 2026 tomorrow (4 Jan 2026)! ðªð
