BCom (H) or Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) is an undergraduate degree programme for Commerce students. Candidates who seek to pursue their higher studies and career in accounting, commerce or banking, finance and insurance, take up BCom and BCom (H) courses at the undergraduate level. BCom is a three-year degree course which is specifically not for one subject. In BCom (H), the same subjects are taught extensively along with a specialisation which makes it a more popular option among students. BCom (H) is offered in several universities and its affiliated colleges across the country in regular as well as distance mode.

BCom Honours Eligibility Criteria

2. The minimum cut off marks criteria is subject to each college/university's admission criteria for that year.

The minimum cut off marks are set for each academic session based on various factors, like the total percentage of candidates passing in Commerce inboards, the highest score in Commerce, the average score in commerce, minimum cut off marks of the previous year, etc.

The admission to BCom (H) course has different criteria for each college. Colleges like Delhi University take up the admission in its college, purely based on candidate class XII percentage. If the percentage falls under the Cut off percentage then the candidate is eligible to apply for the course.

Few universities like IP University, Banaras Hindu University, Aligarh Muslim University, etc, accept the candidate based on the performance in the entrance exam of the university.

Following are the top entrance exams for BCom Honours admissions:

IPU CET- There are 118 affiliated colleges under this university to get the BCom Honours admission. This entrance exam is conducted every year by GGSIPU in courses of different levels in streams such as science, commerce, arts, languages, engineering, management etc. The entrance exam is conducted in an online mode, with MCQ based type questions. For BCom Honours, approx. 100 questions from Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, General Awareness & General English will be asked.

BHU UET- This entrance exam is conducted in offline mode by Banaras Hindu University (BHU) for admissions into UG courses such as B.Sc, BCom (Hons.), BVSc., BFA, LLB, etc. To get admission to BHU, many students give this national exam every year. Approximately 6 affiliated colleges & Institutes and over 8000 seats. The exam pattern is different for each course. For the BCom Honours course, the exam usually consists of questions from Accountancy, Financial Statements, Business management, etc.

NPAT- This is a national level exam conducted by NIMMS, offering admission into many courses such as B.Tech, BBA, including BCom Honours program. The exam is mostly MCQ based and the mode of exam is online.

Lucknow University BCom (Hons) Entrance Examination- This is a university-level exam conducted by Lucknow University every year for admission into BCom Honours. It consists of 100 MCQ based questions that students are required to finish the exam in 120 minutes.

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) BCom (Hons) Entrance Exam- A university level examination conducted by AMU at different exam centres all over India. The syllabus usually consists of important topics at Class 10+2 level having questions from Accountancy, Business Management, Economics, etc.
