How to Effectively Prepare for CUET 2025?

Published on 24th January 2025 | 10:27 AM

CUET 2025 is scheduled to be conducted in May (2025). Roughly 100 days remain before the test begins. With board exams in between, 100 days may seem sufficient to prepare for CUET 2025. All students need to do is follow the right approach and a proper study plan. That can be done by keeping the below-mentioned things in mind:

Firstly, check the syllabus briefly and understand the CUET exam pattern.

CUET 2025 will have three sections - Languages, Domain Subjects, and General Aptitude Tests. All the questions will be compulsory in each of these sections, and students will have 60 minutes to solve them.

> Section I: Languages - 50 questions are to be attempted out of 50 in 60 minutes.

> Section II: Domain Subject - 50 questions are to be attempted out of 50 in 60 minutes.

> Section III: General Aptitude Test - 60 questions will be attempted out of 60 in 60 minutes.

Secondly, remember that there are negative markings on this exam, which means that for every correct answer, you’ll be given five marks, but one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Secondly, make a detailed study plan (day-wise), including topics to cover. This will help you self-analyze your progress for CUET 2024 preparation.

Thirdly, time is something that you will have to manage to prepare for both the Board and CUET exams.

> Give at least one hour from your daily routine to CUET exam preparation till the Board exams are over.

> CUET preparation will not hinder your Board exam preparation because the first 10 questions are also MCQ-type (similar to CUET).

> To prepare for domain subjects like physics, math, chemistry, accountancy, and economics, you can rely on both NCERT and external prep books.

> To ace the General Test section, dedicate 30 minutes of your daily time to reading newspapers, magazines, etc. There are several GK apps that you can download to your mobile phone to keep you updated on current affairs.

Lastly, after completing your syllabus, look at the question paper from the previous year available on the internet. Attempt as many CUET mock tests as possible to build and enhance your test-taking habit.

All the best!
