Gargi College is a premier women's college under the University of Delhi (South Campus), established in 1967 and located on Siri Fort Road, New Delhi. The entire Gargi College UG admission 2026 will be based on the CUET score card of the students. It will be administered through the online DU CSAS portal (ugadmission.uod.ac.in).
The college is specifically designed for female students. Any aspiring candidate must learn the brief details regarding the Gargi College admission process and other irrelevant details to stay prepared when the time comes.
The Gargi College offers UG programs across Arts, Science, Commerce, and Education. Its distinct offerings include B.El.Ed (Elementary Education), BA (Hons.) Applied Psychology, BA (Hons.) Business Economics, and BSc (Hons.) Microbiology - programs not widely available across DU. This guide will briefly cover all the aspects related to Gargi College UG admission 2026.
Named after Gargi Vachaknavi - the 7th-century Vedic philosopher celebrated for her fearless intellectual inquiry, the college has grown from 207 students and 2 courses in 1967 to over 5,200 students, 240+ faculty members, and 28 UG + 3 PG programs today.
It holds NAAC Grade A+ accreditation, Star College Status from the Department of Biotechnology (Government of India), and is ranked #33 in the NIRF 2025 Colleges category.
Note: Gargi College is named after Gargi Vachaknavi, the ancient Indian philosopher mentioned in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad - making the college's identity itself rooted in the tradition of women's intellectual achievement.
Gargi College offers undergraduate programmes across Arts, Science, Commerce, and Education. All admissions are based on CUET UG scores through the DU CSAS portal. A minimum of 50% aggregate in Class 12 (45% for SC/ST/PwD) is required to register on DU CSAS. Class 12 marks serve as a tiebreaker only when two or more candidates have identical CUET scores.

Gargi College maintains one of the most affordable fee structures in Delhi University. Most Arts and Commerce programmes are under Rs 13,000 per year - making the total 3-year investment under Rs 40,000 for most students. BA (Hons.) Business Economics is the exception, with a higher fee structure reflecting its professional-oriented curriculum.

Gargi College UG admission 2026 follows the standard DU CUET-CSAS process. The entire process is online via the NTA CUET portal (cuet.nta.nic.in) and DU CSAS portal (ugadmission.uod.ac.in).
Step 1: Register for CUET UG 2026
Visit cuet.nta.nic.in and complete registration, selecting the correct subject combination for your target programme at Gargi College. (Note: CUET UG 2026 registration closed in February 2026.)
Step 2: Download CUET Admit Card
Download from the NTA portal (expected April-May 2026). Carry a printed copy and a valid government photo ID to the exam centre.
Step 3: Appear for CUET UG 2026
CUET UG 2026 is scheduled from May 11-31, 2026. For competitive Arts and Commerce courses at Gargi, target 850+ (General category). For Science PCM/PCB courses, target 810+, depending on the program.
Step 4: Check CUET Result & Download Scorecard
Results expected in the last week of June 2026. Download your scorecard from the NTA portal - this is mandatory for DU CSAS registration.
Step 5: Register on DU CSAS UG 2026 Portal
Visit ugadmission.uod.ac.in. Register using your CUET application number and pay the CSAS registration fee. Portal expected to open in the 3rd week of June 2026.
Step 6: Fill Program & College Preferences
Select Gargi College as a preference for your target programme. Add 8-10 backup preferences across programmes and colleges. Preferences can be edited until the lock-in deadline.
Step 7: Check Seat Allocation & Accept Offer
DU releases 3-4 cutoff rounds. If allotted to Gargi College, accept the offer within the stipulated window and pay the admission fee on the CSAS portal.
Step 8: Document Verification & Fee Payment
Complete document verification at Gargi College. Pay the remaining fee. Seat is confirmed only after full fee payment and successful document verification.
For the most competitive Arts courses (Political Science, English, Economics, Applied Psychology), the General category demands 820-870+. Science PCM courses (Physics, Chemistry) have cutoffs in the 440-460 range - significantly lower and more accessible. BSc Mathematics at ~720 is the most competitive Science programme.
For BA (Hons.) Economics and Business Economics, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics is mandatory in your CUET combination. For BCom (Hons.), ensure Maths or Business Mathematics is included. Verify the exact CUET subject combinations in the DU Information Bulletin 2026 before your exam.
BA (Hons.) Applied Psychology is not available at most DU colleges. Gargi's strong Psychology department and growing career demand make this one of the most sought-after programmes at the college. With cutoffs around 820+, students interested in psychology, behavioural sciences, or counselling should list Gargi as a top choice.
The B.El.Ed program is a 4-year integrated degree that qualifies graduates directly for elementary school teaching. Distinct from a regular BA, it has limited seats (63) and requires 50% in Class 12. Students committed to education as a career should consider this - Gargi is one of the few DU colleges offering it.
BSc (Hons.) Microbiology is offered at very few DU colleges. For biology-stream students not hitting cutoffs for top-tier Physics or Chemistry programmes elsewhere, Gargi's Microbiology programme offers a specialised, career-relevant science degree.
Gargi is often a student's 3rd or 4th preference after Miranda House, Lady Shri Ram, and Indraprastha. But its cutoffs for Applied Psychology, Political Science, and Economics are highly competitive - treat it as a genuine target, not just a backup. Register on ugadmission.uod.ac.in the moment the portal opens.
