About Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET)

Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) is conducted by Delhi University for various courses offered by it and where admission is not done merely based on class XII marks. Delhi University. Delhi University in collaboration with National Testing Agency conducts the Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) every year for admissions to the following under- graduate courses:

  • B.A. (Honours) Business Economics [BA(H)BE];
  • Bachelor of Management Studies [BMS];
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis) [BBA(FIA)];
  • B.Tech. (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovations) [B.Tech(IT&MI)];
  • B.A. (Hons.) Humanities and Social Sciences [BA(H)HSS];
  • Bachelor of Elementary Education[B.El.Ed];
  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education & Sports [B.Sc(PE,HE&S)];
  • B.A. (Honours) Multimedia and Mass Communication [BA(H)MMC];
  • B.A. (Honours) Multimedia and Mass Communication [BA(H)MMC];
  • Five Year Integrated Programme in Journalism [FYIPJ].

For the courses listed above, the University conducts different entrance exams.

DUET Admission Process:

Registration: Interested candidates must register for the DUET based on the course of interest on Delhi University portal.

Admit Card: Admit card will be released by Delhi University ten days before the scheduled date of the exam. Download the admit card as per the instructions given.

DUET: Write the entrance exam on the scheduled date and time.

DUET Exam Pattern:

While DUET has a standard format for the different exams, the syllabus and composition of questions will vary for each of the courses.

DUET Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria vary for each of the courses under DUET. The minimum eligibility criteria for each of the courses are:

B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics/ Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS)/ Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis) (BBA(FIA)):

  • Aggregate of 60% or more marks in the qualifying examination in four subjects: English, Mathematics and any two other subjects included as per the list by Delhi University.
  • Selection will be based on the rank computed from the combined weighted average of percentage scored in the entrance test and the percentage scored in the qualifying examination where the weights are: Entrance Test: 65%, Qualifying Examination: 35%.

B.Tech. (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovation)

  • An aggregate of 60% or more marks in four subjects, including Mathematics, in the qualifying examination.
  • Selection/Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks secured in the entrance test.

B.A. Hons. (Humanities and Social Sciences)

  • An aggregate of 60% or more marks in four subjects in the qualifying examination.
  • Selection/ Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks secured in the entrance test.

Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

  • An aggregate of 50% or more marks in the qualifying examination, and with a minimum of 50% marks in each of the “Best Four” subjects. The Best Four subjects may include: One subject from English/Hindi (core or elective) and three other subjects from the following: any one language (offered by CBSE or its equivalent board at 10+2 level); Biology; Physics; Chemistry; Mathematics; Economics; History; Political Science; Geography; Sociology; Philosophy; Psychology; Business Studies/Accountancy.

    OR

    One subject from English/Hindi (Core or Elective), two other subjects from any one language (other than that chosen in list I, offered by CBSE or its equivalent board at 10+2 level); Biology; Physics; Chemistry; Mathematics; Economics; History; Political Science; Geography; Sociology; Philosophy; Psychology; Business Studies/Accountancy and Any other subject (other than those mentioned above) in class XII offered by CBSE or its equivalent board. Not more than two languages (whether core or elective) will be considered for the purpose of eligibility for “Best Four” subjects together. For the purpose of eligibility not more than two subjects will be considered from the following: Commerce, Business Studies, Accountancy, Informatics Practice and Computer Application.

  • In addition the applicant must have studied and passed English/ Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science till class Xth
  • Selection/Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks secured in the Entrance Test

Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education and Sports (B.Sc.[PE,HE& S])

  • Aggregate of 45% or more marks in the qualifying examination, with one language and three best subjects. Physical Education to be treated at par with List B subjects for “Best Four” calculations for admission to this course.
  • Selection/Admission will be based on the combined weighted average of percentage scored in the Entrance Test and Sports proficiency where the weightages are:

    Entrance test 50%

    Sports Proficiency Award 50%.

Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Multimedia and Mass Communication

  • An aggregate of 75% or more marks in the “Best Four” (including 85% or more in English) in the qualifying examination.
  • Mass Media Studies may be included as an academic subject for calculation of "Best Four".

Five Year Integrated Course in Journalism

An aggregate of 50% or more marks determined on the basis of all five subjects offered in the qualifying examination.
