Thapar Institute Of Engineering And Technology (TIET) is known to be one of the oldest and finest educational institutes of India. It was established in 1956 and has a campus area of 250 acres located in Patiala. TIET is known to be a pioneer in Engineering education, research, and innovation. The institute is also NAAC accredited with grade’ A+’ and has been ranked 20th amongst the top 100 engineering institutions of India. TIET has 6 schools, 8 departments and 8 centers offering various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. The TIET centers are there for academic requirements of the University.

Mode of Admission
- 1.Mode – 1 (70% Seats)
- The candidate should secure a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects (Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Computer Science) in the class 12th examination.
- Or the candidate should secure a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in a Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3-year duration.
- The candidate must have appeared for JEE (MAIN)
- Mode – 2 (30% Seats)
- The candidate should secure a minimum of 75% marks (70% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects (Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Computer Science) in the class 12th examination.
