COMED Exam

COMEDK (Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental colleges of Karnataka) conducts a pan India examination to undertake students for various colleges. The number of seats available for the undergraduate admission are 20,000. There are more than 150 engineering, 14 Medical, 23 dental colleges in which students can take admission. The responsibility of conducting the entrance is given to KPCF and KUPREGA. It is a computer based examination which is conducted at multiple locations to minimize the cost of travel and for the convenience of the candidate.

 COMED Eligibility

The eligibility criterion of COMED is as follows:

  • Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as the core subjects in the last two years of 10+2 or equivalent examination.
  • General: minimum aggregate is 45% marks in PCM
  • SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka: minimum aggregate is 40% marks in PCM.

 COMED Exam Pattern

The exam comprises of 180 multiple choice questions in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology. Engineering candidates need not attempt English Language section. However, it is compulsory to attempt 60 MCQs of English for those who have applied for PCB and PCMB.

  • 1 mark is awarded for every correct answer and there is no negative marking.
  • The duration of the exam is 3 hours.

  COMED Syllabus

The students are tested on the topics from class XI and XII Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics. Students are advised to revise all the topics thoroughly to have better chance of securing seats.
