About IISERs

The Government of India has initiated IISERs at Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati to integrate and promote interdisciplinary science education and research. Over the years IISERs have been successfully filling brilliant young minds. An overarching goal of the IISERs is to make students capable of shaping the nation by inventing and implementing sustainable solutions for societal problems through scientific research. This is being achieved by our faculty department of international repute together with bright students. In a short period, IISERs have generated an incredible amount of intellectual property in the form of publications and patents. In 2012, it has been declared 'Institutes of National Importance by the Parliament of India, IISERs offer courses such as BS-MS, integrated PhD and PhD to the aspirants. At IISERs, students can get admission in programmes such as Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Data Science, Earth & Climate Sciences/Earth & environmental sciences, Economic Sciences, Engineering Sciences (Chemical, Data Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science engineering), Geological Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences. Candidates need to know that Engineering Sciences and Economic Sciences courses are being offered at IISER Bhopal only. Presently, there are seven IISERs spread all across the nation.
