JEE Main 2020: Exam Analysis

First Impressions: JEE (Main) 2020 - September 3, Paper 1, Slot 1

During the JEE (Main) 2020 September attempt for paper 1 that was conducted on September 3, the necessary safety precautions for COVID-19 were properly undertaken. Social distancing was maintained; and all the students were sanitized. Every student was given a mask; had to wear gloves; and was required to carry sanitizer and water bottles.

As far as the question paper was concerned, it was difficult as compared to the paper on 2nd September; with the most difficult and lengthy section being Mathematics. On the other hand, the Chemistry section was easy but the questions in physical chemistry were lengthy and tricky. The physics section was moderate to difficult and lengthy. Overall, the exam was tough as compared to the exam on 2nd September.

  • 15-17 could be considered as a good attempt in each section.
  • Mathematics and physics were lengthy.
  • There were many tricky questions in physics.
  • Major questions in Mathematics were from Vectors & 3D, Matrices and Complex numbers
  • Chemistry section had many questions from chemical bonding and coordination compounds
