There are 4 main stages which will be followed when a budding researcher enrolls in Accendere's Research Paper Guidance initiative:

Theme Identification

Identification of the theme or the broad area of research is the first and most important step in any research. It depends on a number of variables such as student's interest, whether the area is currently under research, the facilities and skills set available, etc. The students and the mentor spend the first session, interactive in nature, to identify and zero in on a broad area of research.

Literature Survey

The Literature survey is done mainly to understand what is the current status of the theme of interest?
It involves going through several papers written by eminent authors on the topic.
A literature survey is a process usually involves identifying and perusing several literature review articles, which are text written by someone to consider the critical points of current knowledge including substantive findings as well as theoretical and methodological contributions to a particular topic. Most often associated with academic-oriented literature, such as a thesis, a literature survey usually precedes a research proposal and the research.

The objective of this stage will be to identify the research problem from within the broad area of research. The mentor will provide the young researchers with the initial feeder article to enable to hit the ground running at the end of a talk, which will covers aspects of methodologies of conducting literature survey. The survey itself ends with the research proposal, which forms the basis of the work and also doubles as the first section of the research paper envisaged.

Basics Strengthening Classes + Research Assignments

Once the literature review is done, you know what is already there in the field. We then move onto teaching you the basics of what needs to be known in the fields of science to pursue further research in the field.

For example, to write a paper in the analysis of algorithms, the way to calculate time & space complexity should be known.

Research assignments will be given at the end of every meeting which is to be pursued as a group. The mentor uses the research assignment stage to break down the research problem into achievable sub-problems with realizable targets.

Paper Writing and Publication

Once some original and publishable material is in place (could take upto 6 months for a good quality paper), we help you write the paper (formats, style of writing etc).We help you pick out different conferences across the world to publish the same. Now typical courses would tell you how many classes and the duration. Tentative schedules, pan out thus:

• Session 1: 2 hours - Theme identification and orientation
• Session 2: 4 hours - Fundaments of literature survey methodologies
• Session 3: 3 weekends -Literature surveys and discussions - 4 hours a week sessions
• Session 4: 3 months - Classes, research assignments, etc.. - 4 hours a week sessions
• Session 5: 2 months - Documentation, Presentation, Identification of Conferences, Submitting the Papers, Review and Revision processes - 4/8 hours a week.

Given the nature of this field, it is not possible to promise the exact number of classes or durations, but why is that relevant when we promise you this: We are there to help you out until you publish the paper in a national level conference, as many meetings as it takes.
