DUET 2020

University of Delhi (DU), one of the most sought after Universities in the country, is undergoing an admission transformation. It is going to conduct the DU Entrance Test in collaboration with NTA (National Testing Agency) here on.

Somewhere we had been sensing this change coming our way for long and probing the last couple of Class Xll batches to be prepared for this sudden shift. And, COVID 19 makes that come true for the students in 2020!

Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) is an online entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the candidates seeking admission in UG, PG, M. Phil., and PhD courses offered by Delhi University.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted with the conduct of entrance tests for the following courses for the University of Delhi, Undergraduate Admissions 2020-21:

  • Business Economics [BA(H)BE]

    Know More...

  • Bachelor of Management Studies [BMS]

    Know More...

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis) [BBA(FIA)]

    Know More...

  • B.Tech. (IT and Mathematical Innovations) [B.Tech(IT & MI)]; Tech

    Know More...

  • B.A. (Hons.) Humanities & Social Sciences [BA(H)HSS]

    Know More...

  • Bachelor of Elementary Education [B.El.Ed]

    Know More...

  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education & Sports [BSc (PE,HE & S)]

    Know More...

  • B.A. (Honours) Multimedia & Mass Communication [BA (H)MMC]

    Know More...

  • Five Year Integrated Programme in Journalism [FYIPJ]

    Know More...

  • B.A. (Honours)

As you can see, apart from the many courses that have undergone this change, we see some important Vocational programs also being pooled in under DUET. Previously, DU JAT (Delhi University Joint Admission Test) was conducted for admissions in several undergraduate courses namely BBA-FIA, BBA, BMS, BBE. But now, as proposed, there will be an entrance test conducted by DU in which selection will be based on the rank computed from the combined weighted average marks of percentage scored in entrance test and percentage scored in qualifying examination, where qualifying exam will weigh 35% and entrance test will weigh 65%.

Pattern of Entrance Tests

  • Selection/ Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks secured in the written entrance test.
  • The written entrance test, of two hours duration, will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) (four choices each) designed to evaluate the aptitude of the applicants through areas as relevant to each subject.
  • There will be 100 questions. Each correct answer will get a score of plus 4 marks, each wrong answer will get a score of minus 1 mark and a question not answered will get a score of zero marks.
  • The entrance test will examine your aptitude on areas like Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and analysing ability, General English (Verbal Ability) and Business & General Awareness.

Staying alert and updated is the best way out to deal with this change. Mistakes in application procedures or ignorance on the entrance patterns & timelines can cost the student his dream (college) seat!
