IBPS CWE RRB (Office Assistant, Multipurpose), October 6, 2013 - Exam Analysis 2014

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducted online examination, for the recruitment of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) in Regional Rural Banks, across the country on the 6th of October, 2013.

The paper was expected to be easier from the RRB Officer Scale- I paper, but exactly opposite happened. There were more conceptual based questions in sections such as Reasoning, English, Computer Knowledge and General Awareness. The questions in Numerical Ability were of the same level.

There were 200 questions in the paper, which had to be answered in 2 hours and 30 minutes. There were five sections in all - Reasoning, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, English Language/Hindi Language and Computer Knowledge. Other than the fourth section, where in a candidate had to attempt either the section on English Language or the one on Hindi Language, all the other sections were available bilingually, that is, in both English and Hindi. Each question had 5 options. There was negative marking of one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question for all the sections.

This section saw primarily saw moderate level of questions. A student should have attempted at least 30 questions.

Questions on Error spotting, Spelling and Cloze test dominated this section. There was one Reading Comprehension passage with 10 questions. The questions in this section were fairly easy.

General Awareness

The maximum number of questions from this section was from Banking and Economy. Some questions from Current Affairs were also there. This section was of moderate difficulty level.

Computer Knowledge

This section comprised questions of moderate difficulty level based on basic knowledge of computers. The main areas from which questions were asked are: Windows, Networking, Hardware and Software.
