The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar announced the launch of the IPM Program from the academic year 2025-2030.
The second academic year, 2026-31, for IIM Amritsar IPM students will begin with taking the IPMAT-Indore 2026 entrance exam. IIM Amritsar offers a one-of-a-kind, specialized degree with BSQFE (Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Finance and Economics) and MBA.
However, like every IPM program, IIM Amritsar will award students undergraduate and postgraduate degrees with an option to exit after the BSQFE degree.
15th among the league of IIMs in India, IIM Amritsar was set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development with the support of the Government of Punjab.
After years of providing world-class postgraduate education to MBA students, the institute is set to advance the teaching methodology of intensive case studies, absorbing fieldwork, and role-plays to undergraduate students with its Integrated Program in Management (IPM).
IIM Amritsar is the 6th IIM in the country to offer the IPM course, after some top names like IIM Indore, Rohtak, Ranchi, and more. It has specifically positioned this specialized program as an i-MBA(also called an integrated master's in business administration).
Although it has the structural formation of an IPM course, IIM Amritsar has a few unique offerings for students seeking an IPM course, and those are as follows:
IPMAT-Indore serves as the clearing examination for IIM Amritsar as well. Students do not need to take any other exam.
Students who complete the course will be awarded dual degrees: a BSc in Quantitative Finance & Economics (BSQFE) and an MBA.
A supporting pool of visiting and adjunct faculty from other top B-Schools such as IIM Kozhikode, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, & more.

Every IPM differs in its offering in the first 3 years; i.e., the undergraduate level. Similarly, this course circles around the 3 pillars: Finance, Economics, and Business Management.

Since IIM Amritsar is going to accept the IPMAT-Indore scores, the general perception will be that it will have the same IPMAT-Indore eligibility criteria.

IIM Amritsar has also opened its doors to foreign or International candidates for its IPM program. IIM Amritsar has allocated 5 seats for international/foreign applicants under a separate Supernumerary Quota, in addition to the regular IPM program intake.

Eligible candidates must take the SAT in their country of residence, submit their application at www.iimamritsar.ac.in within the specified deadline, and pay the online application fee.
Candidates meeting all criteria & submitting complete applications will be considered for shortlisting.
Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI) based on SAT scores. Minimum SAT cutoff determined by Admissions Committee.
