The IPMAT Cutoff 2025 refers to the minimum marks a candidate must secure — section-wise or overall — to qualify for the next stage of the IPM admission process. Cutoffs have now been officially released or confirmed for IIM Indore (via RTI), IIM Rohtak, IIM Shillong, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Jammu, and IIM Bodh Gaya for the 2025 cycle. This page consolidates all official 2025 cutoffs, ATS score ranges, and multi-year trends in one place.
IPM cutoffs differ for different vertical and horizontal categories, which will be discussed in detail on this page. The cut-offs are released after the IPMAT/JIPMAT tests are over.
Find below the most recent cut-off lists (for the academic year 2024 and prediction for 2025) as released by IIM Indore, Rohtak, Ranchi, Bodh Gaya, Jammu, Amritsar, & Shillong.
The factors listed below will influence cutoffs for IPM in IIMs:

Key structural rules for cutoffs:
The following sectional cutoffs are officially confirmed via IIM Indore's RTI response for the IPM 2025–30 batch. All three sectional cutoffs are mandatory — a candidate failing in even one section is not shortlisted for PI, regardless of total score.

Of approximately 16,357 candidates who scored a positive raw score (≥1) in all three sections in 2025, only 818 cleared all sectional thresholds and were shortlisted for the PI round. From these 818, IIM Indore selects its final batch of 150 students.
The Aptitude Test Score (ATS) is a composite score calculated only for candidates who clear all three sectional cutoffs. It determines the PI shortlist merit order within each category. ATS is a weighted composite — it is not the same as the raw total score.

The minimum ATS for General category (41.55) sets the floor for getting a PI call. Aiming for an ATS well above this minimum is essential to be competitive — many candidates at the floor do not receive a final offer.

The 2024 cutoff dropped sharply (General: 301) after a tough paper. In 2025 the paper was easier, pushing the General cutoff back up to 381 — nearly matching the 2023 peak of 409. This volatility means target scores of 380+ for General are safest.
IIM Shillong releases composite score cutoffs for shortlisting candidates for PI.
The composite score weights: IPMAT Score (30%) + Personal Interview (50%) + Class X marks (10%) + Class XII marks (10%).

Though JIPMAT is a common entrance exam for IIM Jammu and IIM Bodhgaya, both the institutes release their own set of cutoffs.
IIM Bodh Gaya releases both sectional percentile cutoffs and overall score cutoffs for JIPMAT. Both must be cleared for admission consideration. Selection is based 100% on JIPMAT score — there is no Personal Interview round.

Clearing the sectional cutoff only gets you into the PI shortlist — it does not guarantee admission. Here are safe target scores based on 2025 actuals:
IPMAT Indore — General Category Safe Targets: QA SA: 36+ (out of 60) | QA MCQ: 60+ (out of 120) | VA: 140+ (out of 180) Safe total: 240–260 out of 360
IPMAT Rohtak — General Category Safe Target: 380+ out of 480 (2025 cutoff was 381; aim above the threshold)
JIPMAT — General Category Safe Targets: IIM Bodh Gaya: 333+ for a final offer | IIM Jammu: 70th+ percentile in each section
For IPMAT Indore, the final 150 seats consider the full composite score including the PI (35% weightage). Clearing the cutoff is the first gate — it is not sufficient on its own.
This question depends on a lot of factors. If we have to focus, It depends on which IPMAT we are speaking about. When we talk about IPMAT-Indore, the ideal score for a General Category student is somewhere between 240-245. But it changes considerably for IPMAT-Rohtak; in fact, it increases to 200-310.
For the General category, a safe target is 240–250 out of 360. Verbal Ability carries 180 marks and is the most decisive section — scoring 130+ in VA gives a strong competitive advantage. Your 240 must reflect balanced performance; a score skewed entirely toward VA will not compensate for failing the QA sectional cutoff.
As discussed in the article above, the cutoffs are defined by a lot of parameters and changes every year. Gauge the exam difficulty and adapt your attempt.
The official 2025 cutoff for General category is 381 out of 480. EWS: 331, NC-OBC: 297, SC: 230, ST: 138, DAP-General: 274. A total of 1,013 candidates were shortlisted for PI based on these cutoffs.
In 2025, 818 candidates were shortlisted for PI out of approximately 16,357 who achieved a positive raw score in all sections. From these 818, IIM Indore selects a final batch of 150 students.
Yes. IIM Bodh Gaya requires 70th percentile in each section for General category (2025). IIM Jammu requires 50th percentile in each section for the General category. Both IIMs also use overall score cutoffs separately.
A score of 150 out of 360 in IPMAT Indore falls below the General category safe target of 240-250. NC-OBC candidates may receive calls from some accepting institutes at this level, but it would be borderline. For IPMAT Rohtak (out of 480), a score of 150 falls well below even the ST cutoff of 138 — this is not a competitive score for any General or EWS category candidate.
