- Admissions For MBBS program- NEET

Candidates seeking admission to UCMS must qualify National Eligibility Cum Entrance (NEET 2017) conducted by CBSE. Apart from AIIMS and JIPMER, NEET is the only medical entrance examination conducted in India for UG admissions. It is necessary for a candidate to score a minimum of 50% aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST and OBC candidates) in NEET 2017 to become eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS programs.

Eligibility to apply for UCMS MBBS exam 2017

  • Candidates who wish to apply for the said exam must be an Indian National.
  • The candidates must have completed 17 years of age as or on December 31, 2017.
  • Candidates must have passed/appeared in 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry Biology/Bio-technology and English as compulsory subjects in class 11th and 12th from recognized schools conducting regular classes situated with Delhi-NCR only.
  • The candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology and must have an aggregate of 50% in class 12th.
  • The candidates must have passed the above mentioned examination in all subjects.

  • Admission procedure UCMS

    Aspiring candidates can apply for 85% of the total seats available for MBBS and BDS admissions as admissions to 15% All India Quota seats will be done by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC).
    Admission at UCMS is strictly based on the merit list of candidates belonging to different categories is released by Faculty of Medicine and Sciences, Delhi University. Only when the seats are left vacant after preparing the merit list of Delhi NCR candidates, desirable candidates belonging from outside Delhi are taken into consideration.

    Counseling is conducted for medical aspirants on the basis of their score obtained in NEET. Candidates will be informed about the various courses available to a candidate. None of the candidates already pursuing MBBS/BDS from any institute of the country shall be allotted a seat in the counseling.

    Upon successful allotment of seats, the candidates are expected to produce their certificates at the time of counseling, desired documents and admit card and score card of NEET exam to complete the admission procedure.

    NEET Exam

    Supreme Court of India had ordered to scrap all state CET exams for the MBBS entrance last year. The states are supposed to hold only Single Exam - NEET from now on.
    NEET will be conducted in an offline mode (pen and paper based) at various centres across the country. The question paper will be available in different languages namely English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi and Telugu.


    Examination pattern

    The question paper will comprise of 180 questions. Questions will be of MCQ type with each question having four options to choose from. The duration of exam will be three hours.
    The question papers will be composed of four sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

    NEET Syllabus

    The questions to be asked in NEET 2017 exam will be based upon the topics and chapters from Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany taught in 10+2 level at school. The NEET syllabus is prepared after reviewing various state syllabi as well as those prepared by the CBSE, NCERT and COBSE.

    UCMS reservation policy

    The distribution of seats is as per Delhi University Norms.

    • 15% of total seats are filled in through the entrance examination conducted by the C.B.S.E. on All India basis.
    • 85% of total seats are filled in through the Delhi University Norms.
    • 6 seats are reserved for Government of India nominees.
    • OBC - 27%, SC - 17%, SC - 7.5%
