SSC CGL Tier II Exam tomorrow: Last minute tips and tricks

 India Today Education - Oct 24, 2015

The Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier II exam is to be conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on Sunday, October 25. Almost 1.45 lakh candidates have qualified for the exam.

Listed below are three tips provided by R. SHIVA KUMAR, Director - Academics, CL Educate (Career Launcher):

Do not waste any time. Keep a track on your attempts every 10 minutes: According to the expert, the paper pattern of SSC hardly changes. Even if it does change, not more than 10 to 12 questions variate. So the key to maximizing attempts is attempting the familiar and shorter ones first, especially in quant. A conscious attempt to time your-self every 10 minutes will go a long way in ensuring that you would be able to attempt at least 75 questions.

Have a look at all the questions-attempt the paper in 2 rounds: Every sheet of paper contains 4 to 5 very simple questions. Being decisive about which ones to attempt first is the key to maximizing attempts. If you have to think about an answer, mark it for review and come back later. Also, there have been wrong questions in the past. If the candidates think there is something wrong in a question, do not waste time on that.

Get your sequence of attempts right in paper II. Use choices wisely and make intelligent guesses: Most of the candidates have evolved a strategy to do as many attempts. Whatever it may be, the candidates must bear in mind to stick to strategies that have worked for them. Even if there is a slightly difficult paper, the candidates should remember that it can happen to maximum 20 questions in the entire paper. The rest of it is same as the old SSC papers. So, one must look for the familiarity that will help them sail through the test.
